Doxycycline is a molecule of the cyclin family that works as an antibiotic by slowing the growth of bacteria in the body. It is a semi-synthetic tetracycline that was developed in the early 60s by Pfizer Inc. and marketed under the name Vibramycin, approved by the FDA in 1967. It was the first broad-spectrum daily antibiotic created and proved to be effective against intracellular bacteria.
About one person in one hundred with hypertension has elevated levels of aldosterone; in these persons, the antihypertensive effect of spironolactone may exceed that of complex combined regimens of other antihypertensives. Due to its antiandrogen effect, it can also be used to treat hirsutism, and is a common component in hormone therapy for male-to-female transsexual and transgender people.

 

Furosemide (INN) or frusemide (former BAN) is a loop diuretic used in the treatment of congestive heart failure and edema. It is most commonly marketed by Sanofi-Aventis under the brand name Lasix. Along with some other diuretics, Furosemide is also included on the World Anti-Doping Agency's banned drug list due to its alleged use as a masking agent for other drugs.
